Ross Bartels

Founder / Principal Designer / Creative Director

Ross Bartels founded BOOM designs in the summer of 2013 after over a decade in the field of industrial design. Ross’s experience and passion for design drive results-orientated innovation into his design strategies. Before founding BOOM, Ross was a lead designer with Motorola where he developed revolutionary products such as the RAZR & PEBL. After Motorola, Ross excelled as a lead designer at Radio Flyer producing 12 unique products generating over 10M in revenue. Ross has mentored design graduate students at the University of Illinois throughout his career, not wanting to lose sight of his passion for inspiring young designers. Ross earned his MFA in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his BFA in Industrial Design from the University of Notre Dame. He has 10+ years of outstanding professional achievement.

It has been my pleasure to have know Ross over the last 10 years. Over the last 2 years Ross has been an outstanding asset to the Wrigley Global Design Studio. He has demonstrated tremendous versatility in every aspect of the design process. His uniquely fresh perspective coupled with a relentless work ethic are a lethal combination to anyone looking to innovate and push beyond category norms.
